Another clue on a later 60's speaker might be a tiny F punched into the foil label. Unfortunately these stamps are not always on the speakers and are sometimes on the cabinet, or on the inside or outside of the chassis.

Supposedly, if they are original to that amp, they would have an ink stamp on them that matches the stamp on the tube chart inside the cabinet.or a stamp that would be a code like AA2565.25th week of 1965. If you cannot find the codes on the speakers, check the back of the speaker manual.Hi Scott, It is kind of rare to find factory installed JBL 120F's in a twin but not unheard of.Note that sometimes a hyphen appears between the three digit manufacturer code and the date code. While this is not a requirement for manufacturers, some include this information. Look at the digits after the week to see the day and possibly the hour the speakers were made. For example, a code of 7949422 indicates that the speakers were made in the 22nd week of 1994 by Harman Kardon. The remaining digits indicate the week of that year. Speakers made before the 1970s only have one digit representing the year which is misleading. The first two digits after the manufacturer three digit code indicate the year. The number 371 indicates Altec Lansing and 794 represents Harman Kardon. Depending on when the speakers were made, the maker may be Altec Lansing or Harman Kardon, both of which have owned JBL at one point. The first three digits indicate the maker of the speakers. If you do not see a sticker look for engraved numbers on the back surface of the speaker or turn the speaker over and inspect for numbers. Inspect the back of the speaker for a sticker that has digits or letters on it.

UPDATE.The new units will be out mid March as per Harman/JBL advise and will should have serial numbers above 0189100. JBL will be rolling out the new units in a few weeks (early March 2013) so please check the serial numbers before you purchase to ensure that you get one with the better BT antenna. They are pulling out all 'old' units from retail stores and replacing them with the 'new' JBL Flips with the improved antenna that is supposed to have taken care of the BT signal issues of the old units. All units above this number will have the new modified JBL Flip with the new antenna.

They provided me s serial number cutoff of GG0054-189100. I have heard plenty of online reviews that the JBL Flip is having issues with the Bluetooth signal (weak signal, signal cutting out, etc) I have written Harman/JBL regarding this issue and they have replied that they are aware of the problem and have recently redesigned the BT antenna.
